July 15, 2026—The Marine Corps would like to remind the public of the upcoming temporary closure of the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area from August 13th through the 27th, 2026. During this time, critical military training will be conducted in the area. These exercises help ensure our Marines are prepared for any mission, anywhere in the world.
During temporary closures of the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area, the adjacent Johnson Valley OHV recreation remains open for public use. Recreationists are advised to be safe and observe boundaries when recreating in the OHV area while the Shared Use Area is closed.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for all upcoming closure dates scheduled for 2026 and 2027:
August 13 – 27, 2026
February 12 – 24, 2027
August 13 – 26, 2027
